CCG Holds Work Meetings with Indonesian, Philippine, Cambodian Counterparts

Major General Yu Zhong, Director General of China Coast Guard (CCG), held separate work meetings with senior officials of Indonesian Coast Guard (BAKMLA), the Philippine Coast Guard, and Cambodian National Committee for Maritime Security on December 9 while participating in the Vietnam Coast Guard and Friendsexchange program in Hanoi, Vietnam.

 

 

 

During the work meeting with Indonesian Coast Guard, the two sides reviewed the important consensus on building the China-Indonesia community with a shared future recently reached by leaders of the two countries. The Indonesian side expressed their condolences on the passing away of Comrade Jiang Zemin.

The sides positively evaluated their cooperative achievements made in recent years, and discussed topics including advancing high-level visits, establishing cooperation mechanisms, conducting work communication, and managing maritime divergences. Both sides agreed to work harder to implement the memorandum of understanding on strengthening maritime cooperation, tighten communication, intensify personnel exchange, and put the outcomes of the meeting into practice, so as to contribute to deepening bilateral maritime cooperation.

 

 

 

During the work meeting with the Philippine Coast Guard, the two sides reviewed the important consensus recently reached by leaders of the two countries, positively evaluated what they have achieved since the two agencies established the cooperation mechanism in 2016, and discussed matters including high-level meeting, signing of cooperation documents, management of maritime divergences, ship visit, and personnel training.

Both sides agreed to give full play to the coast guards diplomatic function, continuously deepen the existing cooperation mechanisms, stay in close touch, and enhance mutual trust and friendship, so as to jointly maintain maritime security and stability in the region.

 

 

 

During the work meeting with Cambodian National Committee for Maritime Security, the two sides reviewed the consensus recently reached by the two state leaders and the iron-cladfriendship between the two countries. The Chinese side expressed its gratitude to the Cambodian side for helping endangered Chinese citizens in September this year. They also discussed how to advance high-level visits, establish cooperation mechanisms, keep up working-level communication, and other subjects.

Both sides agreed to strengthen their communication and exchange with the aim of jointly preserving maritime security and stability in the region and pushing China-Cambodia maritime law enforcement cooperation to a new level.
