On April 24 and 25, 2023, a delegation from China Coast Guard (CCG) held a high-level meeting with Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in Murmansk, Russia. The two sides co-signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strengthening CCG-FSB maritime law enforcement cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides retrospected the friendly course of China-Russia coast guard cooperation, discussed their intention for future cooperation, and exchanged views on issues of common interest. The two sides agreed to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, actively promote maritime law enforcement cooperation by following the principles of good-neighborliness, friendship, and win-win cooperation, and jointly build a maritime community with a shared future, so fully serving the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. After the meeting, Yu Zhong, CCG Director General, and Gen. Vladimir Grigorovich Kulishov, First Deputy FSB Director and Chief of Border Service, co-signed the MoU on strengthening CCG-FSB maritime law enforcement cooperation, and observed the “Arctic Cruise 2023” maritime real-combat training.
